A trailer for Ladies First, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike, has been released

The satirical comedy imagines a parallel universe in which society's gender roles are reversed

The Thea Sharrock-directed film premieres on Netflix May 22

In Sacha Baron Cohen's new movie, it's a woman's world.

The actor-filmmaker, 54, plays a CEO in a female-dominated parallel universe — led by a formidable Rosamund Pike — in Ladies First (on Netflix May 22). The satirical comedy's newly released trailer offers a first glimpse of how it imagines the rules and roles of the patriarchy being reversed.

As a narrator introduces Cohen's cocky Damien in the trailer and intones that he has "a punchable face," the character walks into a pole and is knocked out. Upon waking, he discovers an England run by women exhibiting all the behaviors of men back in his reality: farting, cat-calling, even running his company.

"What are you doing in my office?" Pike, 47, can be heard asking Cohen as he attempts to make sense of this parallel universe. "How do I get out of here?" he later asks Richard E. Grant, who responds mysteriously, “You make a change.”

Per an official synopsis, Damien's “life is turned upside down when he wakes up in his worst nightmare: a parallel world dominated by women. Where he once ruled the boardroom, he now finds himself humbled and going head-to-head with the newly fierce and fearless Alex Fox,” played by Pike.

“With the rules of engagement changed and Alex at the top of her game, the two boldly battle it out in a comedy about what happens when the script is flipped,” it concludes.

The new movie is directed by Thea Sharrock and adapted by Katie Silberman, Cinco Paul and Natalie Krinsky from Éléonore Pourriat's 2018 French comedy Je ne suis pas un homme facile (I Am Not an Easy Man). It costars Charles Dance, Emily Mortimer, Tom Davis and Fiona Shaw.

Ladies First begins streaming on Netflix May 22.
