- Kitao Sakurai is directing a new film adaptation of the video game franchise *Street Fighter*.
- The bonkers cast includes Jason Momoa, Cody Rhodes, 50 Cent, Orville Peck, and Kyle Mooney.
- *Street Fighter* is slated for release on Oct. 16, 2026.
*Street Fighter* is set to dropkick audiences this October — and its colorful (and cut) ensemble is truly one to behold.
Kitao Sakurai helms the latest film adaptation of the popular video game franchise, and the *Bad Trip* director has assembled a sprawling cast of actors (Noah Centineo, David Dastmalchian), professional wrestlers (Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns), musicians (50 Cent, Orville Peck), and comics (Kyle Mooney, Andrew Schulz). Our eyes are crossing just reading all these names.
The movie unfolds in 1993, following fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Centineo) as they're recruited by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for the World Warrior Tournament. But, per the synopsis, "behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past."
Sakurai had nothing but praise for his team while promoting the film at CinemaCon in April 2026. "Everybody that was in this movie, they grew up on this game and have such passionate relationships with these characters that they're representing," he said (via *USA Today*). "There was no egos or people with a bad attitude. Everybody's just really showing up in the best way. That kind of alchemy created something that's very special and beautiful."
With the movie's trailer turning heads, let's explore into this ensemble of bruisers and oddballs. Keep scrolling to see the *Street Fighter* cast side-by-side with the video game characters they're bringing to life.
Noah Centineo as Ken Masters

Noah Centineo plays Ken in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Noah Centineo leads *Street Fighter* as Ken Masters, the blonde-haired, red-draped martial artist who debuted in the original 1987 game. Ken was played by Damian Chapa in the 1994 film.
Centineo, who's also slated to play a young John Rambo in an upcoming prequel to the Sly Stallone franchise, flaunted his bulked-up physique (and dye job) in an Instagram post. "Road brawler," the caption reads.
The floppy-locked Centineo began his career on *The Fosters* (2015–2018) before starring in several Netflix romances, including *Sierra Burgess Is a Loser* (2018), *The Perfect Date* (2019), and the *To All the Boys* franchise (2018–2021).
He went on to play Atom Smasher in *Black Adam* (2022), join the ensemble of Alex Garland's *Warfare* (2025), and lead two seasons of Netflix's espionage series *The Recruit* (2022–2025).**
Andrew Koji as Ryu

Andrew Koji plays Ryu in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
British actor and martial artist Andrew Koji will costar alongside Centineo as the heroic Ryu, Ken's best pal and another veteran of the original *Street Fighter* game. Byron Mann played Ryu in the 1994 movie.
Koji is best known for his starring role on the Cinemax cult series *Warrior* (2019–2023). His impressive physicality has also been on display in action films such as *Snake Eyes* (2021) and *Bullet Train* (2022). Currently, he stars on AMC's *Gangs of London* (2025–present), another video game adaptation.**
Cody Rhodes as Guile
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/Guile-Street-Fighter-042226-da836538be874a0ba264abaed33fe8bd.jpg)
Cody Rhodes plays Guile in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Professional wrestler Cody Rhodes will play one of *Street Fighter*'s most iconic brawlers: Guile, an Air Force soldier with an anvil-shaped haircut, vengeful spirit, and infamous Sonic Boom attack. Jean-Claude Van Damme played Guile in the 1994 film.
Rhodes is clearly stoked about the role, remixing his wrestling persona's American Nightmare logo with Guile's signature flattop in a post on X.
In a March 2026 interview, Rhodes revealed that his wig was made of yak hair and "never moved."
He added of the movie, "I think people who grew up loving the game — which, I grew up loving the game, and I loved the original movie, not ironically, I actually loved it — I think they're gonna be very pleased with the fan service the movie does," he said.**
A second-generation performer, Rhodes followed in the footsteps of his father, Dusty Rhodes, in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He later helped shake up the sports entertainment world as a co-founder of All Elite Wrestling (AEW). In 2022, he returned to WWE after leaving the company in 2016.
The grappler has since climbed to the top of the roster, headlining the franchise's flagship WrestleMania multiple times.
Rhodes is no stranger to the screen. A veteran of the Howard Fine Acting School, he played a recurring role on *Arrow* (2016–2018) and verbally sparred with Liam Neeson in *The Naked Gun* (2025).**
David Dastmalchian as M. Bison

David Dastmalchian as M. Bison in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
David Dastmalchian has some big shoes to fill as *Street Fighter* villain M. Bison, a role flamboyantly played by the great Raul Julia in the actor's final film role in the game's 1994 adaptation.
In a March 2026 interview with Screen Rant, Dastmalchian spoke highly of Sakurai. "The world that he created, the energy, the atmosphere that he manifested was so special," he said. "And the cast, I just love them. There was only one person in that entire group — and it's a big group — that I knew going into the experience, which was my friend Orville Peck, and we ended up getting to have some very fun stuff together."
Dastmalchian is one of the more ubiquitous actors in Hollywood these days, having pivoted a supporting role in Christopher Nolan's* The Dark Knight* (2008) into meaty turns in big-budget properties like the *Ant-Man* franchise (2015–2018), *The Flash *(2017, 2021), and James Gunn's *The Suicide Squad* (2021).
Dastmalchian has also worked with Oscar-nominated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve on three projects: *Prisoners* (2013), *Blade Runner 2049* (2017), and *Dune* (2021). He also starred in the well-regarded 2023 horror film *Late Night With the Devil*.
In 2025, he featured in Mike Flanagan's *The Life of Chuck*, as well as Paramount+'s *Dexter: Resurrection* and Apple TV+'s *Murderbot. *He also appeared in season 2 of Netflix's live-action riff on the anime *One Piece. ***

Jason Momoa plays Blanka in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Jason Momoa, who was born to star in a *Street Fighter* movie, will glower as Blanka, the green-skinned, orange-haired, electricity-spouting creature that debuted in *Street Fighter II*. Robert Mammone played Blanka in 1994's *Street Fighter*.
Momoa rose to prominence as the vicious (and oddly tender) Khal Drogo on *Game of Thrones* (2011–2012), and went on to play DC's Aquaman in numerous films between 2016 and 2023. He's also led a number of series, including *Frontier* (2016–2018), *See *(2019–2022), and* Chief of War *(2025–present).
He recently scored a huge hit as both a producer and co-lead in *A Minecraft Movie* (2025). The actor has several high-profile projects lined up, including a role as Lobo in James Gunn's *Supergirl* (2026) and a return to his *Dune* character, Duncan Idaho, in *Dune: Part Three*.
Callina Liang as Chun-Li
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/Chun-Li-Street-Fighter-042226-60d0cfe4e4b04f20a0a28da80be525bb.jpg)
Callina Liang plays Chun-Li in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
The *Street Fighter* franchise is undoubtedly heavy on dudes, but its first playable female character, Chun-Li, is essential to its success. Callina Liang follows in the footsteps of Ming-Na Wen and Kristin Kreuk, who played the character in 1994's *Street Fighter* and 2009's *Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li*, respectively.
"Someone pinch me, literally grew up playing this game," Liang wrote in an Instagram post about her casting, adding, "12 year old me is shaking dying crying right now."
The Canadian actress is still early in her career, having bounced from a role on the ITV teen drama *Tell Me Everything* (2022) to starring roles in J.C. Lee's *Bad Genius* and Steven Soderbergh's *Presence*, both released in 2024.**
Joe ‘Roman Reigns’ Anoaʻi as Akuma

Roman Reigns plays Akuma in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
A former NFL player who went on to dominate the WWE, Joe Anoa'i, a.k.a. Roman Reigns, will play Akuma, a dark figure with a connection to Ryu who first debuted in 1994's *Super Street Fighter II Turbo. *
As Roman Reigns, Anoa'i has been a key figure in the WWE for roughly the last 15 years, routinely headlining pay-per-view events and performing with legends such as John Cena, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Brock Lesnar, and many more. He and Rhodes have a long history within WWE, so you can likely expect Akuma and Guile to square off at some point.
In film, Anoa'i appeared opposite Johnson in *Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw* (2019), and landed roles in Netflix's *The Wrong Missy* (2020) and Amazon Prime's *The Pickup* (2025).**
Olivier Richters as Zangief

Olivier Richters plays Zangief in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
It's not easy casting Zangief, a Russian giant with a fierce tuft of chest hair who debuted in *Street Fighter II*. Thank goodness, then, for the 7-foot-2-inch Olivier Richters, an actor and bodybuilder also known as "the Dutch Giant."
In the 1994 film, the character was played by Andrew Bryniarski, who topped out at a measly 6-feet-5-inches.
Richters has flexed his imposing size to great effect in films like *Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny *(2023) and *Borderlands* (2024), as well as season 3 of Amazon Prime's *Reacher* (2025).
Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson as Balrog

50 Cent plays Balrog in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Curtis Jackson, best known as 50 Cent, will play Balrog, the boxer initially modeled on real-life prizefighter Mike Tyson. Grand L. Bush played Balrog in the 1994 film.
Jackson has shared several Instagram posts teasing his turn in the movie, though the Grammy-winning rapper admits his gaming strategy was to just "keep hitting the square button in the arcade."
In addition to his decades-long career in hip-hop, Jackson has made a huge impact on TV as the co-creator, producer, and occasional star of Starz's *Power* universe, which encompasses four series spanning more than a decade. A new entry in the *Power* saga, *Power: Origins*, is currently in development.
Jackson has also proven to be a force on the big screen, with notable roles in films such as *Southpaw* (2015), *Den of Thieves* (2018), and *Expend4bles* (2024), as well as the *Escape Plan* trilogy (2013–2019).
Eric André as Don Sauvage

Eric Andre plays Don Sauvage in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
The iconoclastic Eric André will play Don Sauvage, a more recent addition to the *Street Fighter* franchise who appears as a ring announcer.
André's chaotic talk show, *The Eric Andre Show* (2012–2023), established the actor and comedian as a true subversive, which makes his turns in projects such as *The Lion King* (2019) and *Trolls Band Together* (2023) that much more amusing.
You may also know him from his appearances in *Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping* (2016), *The Righteous Gemstones* (2022), and *Happy Gilmore 2 *(2025). Most recently, he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the Disney+ series *Ironheart* (2025).
Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki

Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Stand-up comic Andrew Schulz will play Dan Hibiki, an arrogant and often ridiculous character who was first introduced in 1995's *Street Fighter Alpha*.
"Mom and Dad, I did tell you playing this game all night was more important than doing homework," Schulz cracked in an Instagram post announcing his casting.
Schulz is best known as a comedian and co-host of *Flagrant*, a podcast that made headlines last year when it hosted President Donald Trump.
As an actor, he's featured in films such as *You People* (2023) and *The Thicket *(2024), as well as Shane Gillis' Netflix comedy *Tires* (2024–present).
Orville Peck as Vega

Orville Peck plays Vega in 'Street Fighter'.
Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Acclaimed country musician Orville Peck will make his film debut in *Street Fighter* as the enigmatic Vega, a masked fighter with a freaky set of Freddy Krueger claws. It's a fitting casting for Peck, who's famous for wearing fringed masks on and off stage. Jay Tavare played Vega in the 1994 film.
Peck has teased his turn as Vega on Instagram, highlighting his ripped physique alongside images of the character.
Since 2019, the South African artist has released three *Billboard*-charting LPs and collaborated with artists such as Diplo, Miley Cyrus, and King Princess. He's also appeared as a guest on series such as *RuPaul's Drag Race* and *My Kind of Country. *
While this will mark Peck's film debut, he recently appeared on Broadway as the Emcee in a revival of *Cabaret* at the August Wilson Theatre.
Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim

Paramount Pictures; Capcom
Vidyut Jammwal is an Indian actor, producer, and practitioner of the Indian martial art Kalaripayattu. He'll play the noble Dhalsim, an early-era *Street Fighter* character who can stretch his limbs like Mister Fantastic. In the original film, Dhalsim was portrayed as a scientist played by Roshan Seth.
Jammwal turned heads when he shared a photo of many of the upcoming film's cast members on Instagram. "In the company of warriors, I find my tribe," he wrote.
The performer is a superstar in India, having led the *Commando* trilogy (2013–2019) and films such as *Junglee* (2019), *Khuda Haafiz* (2020), and *Madharaasi* (2025).

Professional wrestler Hirooki Goto will play E. Honda, a sumo wrestler who first appeared in* Street Fighter II*. Peter Tuiasosopo played the character in the 1994 film.
For roughly two decades, Goto has been a highlight of the famed New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). His few screen credits include the Indonesian action film *Headshot* (2016) and Japan's *Kamen Rider Zero-One the Movie: REAL×TIME* (2020).**

Mel Jarnson is no stranger to video game adaptations, having starred in 2021's *Mortal Kombat *as the vampire Nitara. Here, she'll work from an entirely different palette as Cammy, the MI6 agent played by Kylie Minogue in the 1994 film.
Other titles featuring the Thai-Australian actress include the Liam Neeson action flick *Blacklight* (2022), Chuck Russell's *Witchboard* (2024), and *NCIS: Sydney* (2025).

Actress and martial artist Rayna Vallandingham will play Juli, who, in the games, is an assassin with M. Bison's brainwashed Dolls.
Vallandingham previously highlighted her skills on the mat as Zara Malik in season 6 of Netflix's *Cobra Kai* (2024–2025).**

Alexander Volkanovski will appear in *Street Fighter* as the kickboxer Joe, a.k.a. Superstar.
The Australian is best known for his career as a mixed martial artist, having won championships in both the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and the Australian Fighting Championship (AFC).
Beyond his career in the ring, Volkanovski hosts a popular YouTube channel in which he documents his training, discusses the mixed martial arts scene, and hosts his own cooking show, *Cooking With Volk*.
He briefly discussed his upcoming turn in *Street Fighter* on *The Unscripted Show* with host Josh Mansour.**

With all due respect, Kyle Mooney will very likely be the smallest guy on the *Street Fighter* set. The hilarious *Saturday Night Live* (2013–2022) alum will play Marvin, a character that appears to have been created for the film.
Following his nine-year stint on *SNL*, Mooney has appeared in comedies like *No Hard Feelings* (2023), *Miracle Workers* (2023), and *Unfrosted* (2024), as well as Netflix's *A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter* (2024).
In 2025, he directed, costarred, and co-wrote *Y2K*, an apocalyptic comedy with Rachel Zegler and Fred Durst. He's currently cohosting *What's Our Podcast* with longtime collaborator Beck Bennett and is gearing up for *The Man With the Bag*, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus.
