Selling the City will not return for a second season as Netflix shifts focus to Selling Sunset, TMZ reports

The show followed Eleonora Srugo and her team of Douglas Elliman agents as they try to become the masters of New York City's real estate market

In a statement to PEOPLE, Srugo said she is "incredibly grateful for the experience and for all the people around the world who connected with it"

Selling the City has reportedly been canceled by Netflix after just one season.

The New York City-based real estate reality series, which first premiered in January 2025, will not be returning for another season, TMZ reports, citing sources with “direct knowledge” of the situation.

The series stars' tell PEOPLE there's no hard feelings. They're "grateful" for the experience and "proud" of the show they made.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Eleonora Srugo shared, "Getting to work with Adam DiVello and Netflix was a dream, and even more so to showcase my city and the industry I love. I'm incredibly grateful for the experience and for all the people around the world who connected with it.

The real estate pro notes there's "so much more to my story, and I hope to share more of it soon" noting she's "open to more tv opportunities as they come." She adds, "I'm proud to be part of the Selling franchise. That's something that doesn't change and excited to see what's next."

PEOPLE has reached out to Netflix for comment.

Selling the City followed power broker Srugo, as she assembled her team of "no-nonsense, kicka--" Douglas Elliman agents, including: Jade Chan, Taylor Middleton, Jordyn Taylor Braff, Abigail Godfrey, Gisselle Meneses-Núñez, Justin Tuinstra and Steve Gold.

The docusoap was created by Adam DiVello, who also created Selling Sunset and its spinoff show Selling the OC, both of which follow the highly competitive agents at Brett and Jason Oppenheim's luxury California-based real estate brokerage, The Oppenheim Group.

Netflix is reportedly shifting its focus to Selling Sunset, according to TMZ. However, the streamer has yet to confirm that the L.A.-based real estate series has been renewed for a tenth season.

Srugo's castmate Godfrey, who is now a Coldwell Banker Warburg agent, also told PEOPLE that she "thoroughly enjoyed my experience on Selling the City, and I am thankful for the opportunity to boost my presence as a real estate agent in New York City," adding that the show "helped my business tremendously."

Regarding her new chapter at Coldwell Banker Warburg, Godfrey added, “One door closed and another opened, leading me exactly where I'm meant to be.”

She continued, “Twenty twenty-six has been a wildly successful year so far, both in business and personally, as my husband and I are thrilled to announce our first baby due this summer. I am so grateful to be stepping into such a beautiful new chapter.”

While Selling the City is reportedly coming to an end, a source told PEOPLE in March that the season 10 cast for Selling Sunset is still being worked out amid rumors that some familiar faces might be returning.

Following reports that two original stars of the show, Christine Quinn and Heather Rae El Moussa, might be coming back to the series as full-time cast members, a source told PEOPLE at the time that nothing has been confirmed yet.

"They are still figuring out the cast," the insider said.

Despite the show's next season still being up in the air, original cast member Chrishell Stause has already confirmed she will not be returning after a tense season 9 and a heated season 9 reunion.

In addition to Stause, longtime Oppenheim Group agent Nicole Young is also leaving the show after taking a step back in season 9, her rep confirmed to PEOPLE last month.
