WASHINGTON, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Donald Trump is expected ​to announce a ‌pilot program to reimburse Medicare ‌patients’ CBD treatments, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, when the U.S. ⁠president is ‌also expected to address the potential ‍loosening of U.S. marijuana regulations.

Citing six people familiar with ​the plans, the report ‌said the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which oversees the federal health insurance program ⁠for older Americans, ​could launch ​the pilot as soon as next year and ‍has ⁠previously examined paying for CBD, or cannabidiol, use ⁠to help treat cancer.
